"Aralyn with Candle"
This one is practically identical to the chosen cover. However, as you can see, there is more light in this one. My choppy nail-polish is more visible.
"Foggy Path"
I liked this one. I liked it a lot and really wanted to use it. My sister took this picture on a camping trip in Kansas. I love the perspective; how it's clear at the bottom and then as you progress it gets foggy--like the world Aralyn is stepping in to. But once I uploaded it, it just didn't look right on the book.
"Aimeric's Torture Tray"
I just couldn't make the text look right on this background and the picture itself didn't look right as a book cover. However, it did look quite nice in a smaller size and on the back of the book, which is where you'll find it now.
Dies Irae
I've always wanted to display the formation of the 5 moons in Dies Irae. I'm not an artist by any means (I can't even draw stick people). My sister helped me with the pictures. We got the moons by taking pictures of a glowing"orb" light that I have and changing the colors around in paintshop pro. I put together this cover intending to use it for the fourth seriel of the series, but then when I kept the books as two big ones and did away with the seriels, I had no use for it. I may use it for the sequel (yes, there's more to Samara and Danteous' story), but for now, it's rejected.
